The artist Juan Carlos del Val (1956) was born in Caracas (Venezuela), son of Spanish emigrants, and lives in Bilbao (Spain). He discovered painting in midlife out of his need to be creative and as an antidote against stress. He is a self-taught painter who keeps on learning and enjoys exploring various techniques and styles, He is an extrovert, and he does not take himself too seriously. He likes listening to his friends and learning new things but hates talking about himself.
